This policy explains what information Temp2U processes when providing disposable inboxes and forwarding aliases. We define specific retention periods and use limits instead of vague promises to collect “as little as possible.”
No account is required. The address, messages, and content are deleted when the disposable mailbox expires, with a maximum lifetime of 24 hours.
We use your verified destination email to maintain login, forwarding, and account security until you request account deletion.
Forwarded messages and attachments are kept for retries and access, normally for up to 30 days, then deleted on a rolling basis.
We do not sell email addresses, message content, or account activity, and we do not use email content to build advertising profiles.
Retention at a glance
Retention starts when data is stored or after the last valid activity. Security incidents, legal obligations, or dispute handling may require deletion to be paused when necessary.
| Data category | Purpose | Typical retention | Deletion or limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disposable address, message content | Provide receiving and reading | While the mailbox is active, up to 24 hours | Deleted on expiry or replacement |
| Forwarding destination email | Login, delivery, and security notifications | While the account remains active | Cleared according to the backup cycle after account deletion |
| Forwarded messages and attachments | 30-day archive, retries, and spam assessment | Up to 30 days | Can be deleted message by message earlier |
| Security and access logs | Prevent abuse and diagnose faults | Typically 30 days | Accessible only to authorized personnel as needed |
| Support communications | Respond to requests and retain handling records | Up to 12 months after the issue is closed | Non-essential content can be deleted earlier on request |
This policy applies to the disposable email, forwarding alias, archive, and support services provided by Temp2U on temp2u.com. If you follow a link in an email to a third-party website, that third party’s own privacy rules apply.
For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests, contact support@temp2u.com. To prevent someone else from acting on your behalf, we may ask you to prove control of the relevant email address or account.
Using a disposable inbox does not require your name, password, or real email address. To use forwarding aliases, you must provide and verify a destination email so you can receive verification codes, forwarded messages, and important security notifications.
When contacting support, you decide what information to include in your email. Do not send identity documents, payment card numbers, or sensitive information unrelated to your issue.
The system must process the sender, recipient, subject, message body, and necessary transmission headers to display or forward a message to you. Disposable inboxes are not intended to be long-term attachment storage; attachments in forwarding archives follow the same 30-day window.
Automated spam detection and delivery retries may analyze technical characteristics, but message content is not used for advertising profiles or to train generative models intended for the public. Personnel with support access view relevant content only when necessary to investigate a fault.
Servers record IP addresses, timestamps, request paths, status codes, browser types, and security events to maintain availability, limit abuse, and troubleshoot errors. These logs are not used to track personal interests across websites.
Browser local storage keeps valid disposable-mailbox tokens and forwarding login tokens so your session can be restored after a page refresh. You can clear local data in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent access to a still-active disposable mailbox.
We process receiving, forwarding, and login data to provide the services you request, and security logs to protect the system and users’ legitimate interests. Where required by law, we rely on the relevant legal obligation to retain limited records.
We do not treat “improving the service” as an unlimited purpose. If we introduce processing that materially differs from the current purposes, we will update this notice first and obtain consent where required.
Hosting, network, email delivery, and security providers may process limited data on our behalf as needed to deliver the service. We require them to follow our instructions, maintain confidentiality and security, and delete or return data when the relationship ends.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose information proportionate to the request only when required by valid legal process, necessary to protect user safety, or needed to investigate clear abuse.
Our infrastructure or service providers may be located outside your country, so data may be transferred across borders. We use applicable contractual safeguards and access controls to keep processing as limited as possible.
Protection standards may differ between jurisdictions. Contact support to learn about the main processing regions and safeguards relevant to your use of the service.
We protect data with encryption in transit, token-based authentication, access isolation, rate limiting, and log reviews. Forwarding accounts can enable two-step verification through an authenticator app, reducing the risk if an email verification code is intercepted.
No internet service can promise absolute security. If we identify a security incident that may affect you, we will assess its scope, limit the impact, and provide notice as required by applicable law.
You can view, pause, or delete forwarding aliases, delete archived messages, and disable two-step verification. For account-level access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection requests, contact support from your verified email address.
We respond within the periods required by applicable law. If certain records must be retained for a security investigation, legal obligation, or dispute resolution, we will explain what cannot be deleted immediately and for how long.
The service is not intended for children below the age of independent consent in their region, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a guardian believes a child provided us with account information, they can contact support to request verification and deletion.
Disposable email is not suitable as the sole contact method for medical, financial, government, or other highly sensitive accounts. For these uses, choose a communication channel you can control long term and that meets applicable industry requirements.
After online data expires, it is removed from active systems. Limited backups may temporarily retain residual copies during the normal rotation cycle. Backups are used only for disaster recovery and deleted records are not reimported for ordinary business purposes.
If you actively replace a disposable address, the old address becomes invalid and enters the deletion process. Save any information you truly need before the address expires; we cannot promise to recover messages that have been cleared.
We will update the date on this page and provide a prominent notice of significant changes that materially affect purposes, retention periods, or rights. Before continuing to use the service, review whether the changes suit your needs.
Send privacy and data requests to support@temp2u.com, specifying whether they concern a disposable mailbox or forwarding account. Do not paste unnecessary message content or verification codes into your request.
